Pethidine – Urine

Opioids are a class of drugs that are used to reduce pain (narcotic analgesics). Opioid testing is used to confirm the presence of opioids in the urine, blood, saliva, hair, or sweat. Opioids include opiates that are derived from natural sources (e.g., heroin and morphine) and semi-synthetic and synthetic opioids (e.g., oxycodone, hydrocodone and fentanyl). Opioid tests may be ordered for medical reasons, for example, to determine compliance with opioid prescription medications, to determine adherence to a chemical dependency rehabilitation program, or for legal reasons, for example, as part of a court-ordered probation requirement.
