The tests included in the cardiovascular risk profile 1 are: Lipid profile (Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, Non-HDL Cholesterol, Apolipoprotein A, Apolipoprotein B, Lipoprotein (a); Fibrinogen; hsCRP, Lp-PLA2* (PLAC) and **Homocysteine Test. *Lp-PLA2 (PLAC) is Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2), also known as platelet activating factor, is an enzyme that appears to play a role in the inflammation of blood vessels and is thought to help promote atherosclerosis. This test measures the amount or activity of Lp-PLA2 in the blood. Some recent studies have shown that Lp-PLA2 is an independent risk marker for cardiovascular disease (CVD), including coronary heart disease (CHD), and ischemic stroke. **Homocysteine is an amino acid that is typically present in very small amounts in all cells of the body. That is because the body normally converts homocysteine into other products quickly. Since vitamins B6, B12, and folate are necessary to metabolize homocysteine, increased levels of the amino acid may be a sign of deficiency in those vitamins.
